MARK HENRI LaBEAU
MARK HENRI LaBEAU, D.O.
Board Certified Family Practice & Manipulative Medicine
Dr. Mark Henri LaBeau earned his Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree in 1978 from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. After completing Family Practice residency training at the Chicago Osteopathic Medical Hospital, he became certified in Family Medicine and Manipulative Medicine. Additionally, he has undergone extensive post-graduate medical training in nutrition, acupuncture and homeopathy. Many D.O.'s have been pioneers of integrative medicine in that though they are fully licensed to practice and prescribe medicine, their training emphasizes the use of natural therapies when possible.
Being born and raised in Chicago, Dr. LaBeau spent the first half of his medical career teaching musculoskeletal medicine at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 1982 he also started a Family Practice with an emphasis on nutrition, musculoskeletal, and sports medicine. Being interested in the developing field of integrative medicine he, his wife, Terri, and sons relocated to San Diego in 1995. He joined the staff of the Livingston Medical Center as Medical Director continuing the pioneering work of Virginia Livingston, M.D. For over 30 years the Livingston Medical Center was a model of integrative medicine using a unique and tailored combination of immunotherapy, a vegetable based whole food diet, and nutritional supplements. Patients with chronic immune disorders and cancer would use this program as a central part of their comprehensive medical care to optimize their overall outcome. In order to both continue to serve his patients, due to the untimely closing of the Livingston Medical Center, and to further expand services available, Dr. LaBeau joined the Center for Advanced Medicine in March of 2004.
Mark Henri LaBeau, D.O. is a long-standing member of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP), the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) and the San Diego Osteopathic Medical Association (SDOMA). Dr. LaBeau is, or has served, on the Board of the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Association, San Diego Osteopathic Medical Association and the Price-Pottenger Nutritional Foundation.
On a personal note, Dr. LaBeau's priorities are his faith, his wife, Terri, and his two sons, Jeffrey and Scotty. In his off time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family at the beach, hiking, biking or on a Scout outing
